The Baker Family

Mammoth Spring, Ark. — The Baker Family will perform 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the George D. Hay Foundation theater on Hwy. 63 South, Mammoth Spring.
This extraordinarily gifted family is from Shannon County, Missouri, and appears destined for national acclaim. Like The Dillards from nearby Dent County, who rose to national prominence in the 1960’s, this bluegrass group appears headed for stardom. The Baker Family consists of mother Carrie (guitar and vocals), 14-year old Trustin (fiddle), 11-year old Carina (mandolin and vocals) and 9-year old Elijah (upright bass).
In Trustin, this band possesses a virtuoso fiddle player. He has won (among other honors) the Texas State Freshman Championship and the Missouri Junior Championship within the past two years. Trustin won the Grandmaster Fiddler Youth Championship in late August 2013 held at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.
The family recently took top honors at the “Pickin’ in the Pines Band Contest” in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The Baker Family previously played several concerts at the George D. Hay Foundation theater and were absolute crowd-pleasers. They were awarded the foundation’s Hoedown Award in 2012. It is an honor to welcome them back. The Bakers personify the regional musical talent George D. Hay witnessed in his visit to Mammoth Spring nearly a century ago.
